Director Scott Duncan Connects His Creative Vision to the Vision Screening for Children in His Community

As a member of the outstanding community in Iowa City, I'm very excited to share several spots I created for Iowa KidSight in partnership with The University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science, and  The Lions Clubs of Iowa.

I was honored to have the opportunity to  spread this important  message and thrilled to bring many  talented colleagues together to help the cause:   http://www.iowakidsight.org

This project spoke to the father in me. My goal was to respectfully convey the message and be gentle with the imagery, showing  beautiful authentic moments of childrens' innocence and fragility.   I wanted to portray real families with young children enjoying freedom with light and smiles and allow the story to evolve artistically and flow naturally.

I was drawn to the track, The Lucky One, by Au Revoir Simone,  as the track moves along beautifully with the imagery.  I kept the VO a simple female voice of a great caring mother keeping it straight forward and not overbearing.

We could not have produced this work without the generous contributions of the many talented individuals who volunteered their time and energy to the cause.  We are humbled by their efforts and  deeply grateful  to all!

Many thanks to IowaKidsight and Lori Short for giving us this great opportunity to share our work and support a valuable community organization!

  1. Love love love this Scott. You wrangled all the kids and it was such a fun day. Beautiful commercial and voice over (I almost thought it was Diana)
